　　同学们都知道，英语中表示“花费”的动词有coat、pay、spend、take等。其实，不同的费用在英语中也有不同的名词来表示。下面就是一些比较常用的表示“费用”的名词，同学们不妨根据不同情况试着用用它们。
　　1．charge(原价、要价)
　　常用复数，主要用来指一次性劳务所收取的费用。如：
　　What are the charges inthe hotel?
　　这家旅馆收费多少?
　　The charge to repair the shoes is ten donars．
　　修一双鞋要10美元。
　　The bill listed the charges for all services．
　　这张账单上列出了所有的服务费。
　　2．cost(成本、原价)
　　常用来指对已取得的货物或劳务所支付的费用。如：
　　The cost of seeing a movie is seven doUars．
　　看一场电影要花7美元。
　　What in the cost ofthis car?
　　这辆车的价格是多少?
　　3．faro(车船费)
　　指旅客乘坐公共汽车、出租车、火车、轮船、飞机等所支付的费用。如：
　　All fares，please．
　　请买票。(公共汽车售票员用语)
　　What"s the train fare to Beijing．
　　到北京的火车票价是多少?
　　4. fee(佣金、手续费……)
　　指医生、律师等职业的佣金及会费、手续费、停车费等。如：
　　The doctor charged me a fee．
　　医生向我收了诊疗费。
　　John paid the parking fees．
　　约翰付了停车费。
　　The membership fee of the swlnmnng club is 200 dol-lars a year．
　　这个游泳俱乐部的会费是每年200美元。
　　5．freight(运费)
　　指对货物进行海运、空运、陆运等时支付的费用。如：
　　Who will pay the freight on this ordef
　　谁支付这批订单的运费?
　　What is the freight on the last shipment of grain?
　　上批谷物的轮船运费是多少?
　　The freight must be added to the COSt of the goo&．
　　运费必须加到货物的价格里。
　　6．postage(指邮费)
　　指邮寄信件、包裹等的费用。如：
　　How much postage do I need to send this package?
　　寄这个包裹应付多少钱?
　　I"ll ask at the post office what is the postage on a let-ter to the United States．
　　我去邮局问问往美国寄信要多少邮费。
　　7．rent(租金)
　　指土地、房屋、机器等的定期租费。如：
　　The company has to pay a heavy rent for the land if itis located in the shopping center of the town．
　　如果该公司位于城镇的商业中心区，就得缴纳昂贵的土地租金。
　　The student owed three months"rent for mv house．
　　那学生欠我3个月的房租。
　　8．tip(小费)
　　通常指对一次性劳务所支付的小费。如：
　　I gave my barber a fat tip．
　　我给了理发师优厚的小费。
　　They gave tips to porters and taxi-drivers．
　　他们给搬运工和出租汽车司机小费。
　　9．tuition(学费)
　　指学生上大学或私立学校所交纳的学费。如：
　　The university raised tuition by 4％last year．
　　去年，这所大学的学费上涨了4%。
　　John took out a loan to pay his tuition．
　　约翰通过贷款来支付学费。
　　10．admission(入场费)
　　指参观展览、观看演出等的入场费。如：
　　Admission by ticket only．
　　凭票入场。

　　这场音乐会的门票是多少钱?
　　The man at the gate said we had to pay admission．
　　门卫说我们得付入场费。
　　11．toll(通行费、电话费)
　　指道路、桥梁、港口的通行费及电话费等。如：
　　Dfivem had to Pay a toll to pass the bridge．
　　司机开车过桥时必须要交过桥费。
　　This month I had to pay 200 yuan toll call．
　　这个月我要交200元的电话费。
