　　中图分类号：H3文献标识码：A　　Abstract　　Code-switching is a common phenomenon in bilingual and multilingual society. Pop music can be seen as a cultural medium. The use of code-switching in lyrics first occurs in the songs sung in Hong Kong and Taiwan in the early years. Since the opening and reform policy, the communication between China and the outside world is becoming more frequent, thus the code-switching between Chinese mandarin and a second language or another language variety finds its place in the popular songs sung in the mainland in which Chinese is the major language. The code-switching in the song lyrics discourse has its specific reasons and functions, and the study can be done from the perspective of language itself and the relationship between language use and society.

　　摘要：语码转换是双语或多语语言环境中的一种常见现象。流行音乐是一种文化媒介。在歌词中运用语码转换的手法早期出现于港台歌曲中。改革开放以来，中国与世界的交流日益频繁，因此在汉语同第二外语或汉语变体之间的语码转换也出现在以汉语为主体语言的大陆歌曲中。歌词语篇中的语码转换具有其特定的原因和功能,这些可以从语言本身以及语言同社会的关系等角度进行研究。

　　I. Introduction
　　Code-switching refers to alternation between two or more languages, dialects, or language registers in the course of discourse between people. The study on code-switching in China covers not only the related theories and achievements of western linguists, but also the code-switching phenomena between ethnic minorities’ languages dialects, and mandarin. Code-switching has long been recognized to be an important identity marker in multilingual populations.
　　As the media to express the sense of personal identification, pop songs also make use of code-switching. English as the most widely used language, comes to an increasingly important position. The number of people who can speak English is rising. That applies the possibility for the code-switching. Besides, the popularization of Hong Kong and Taiwan songs pushes the application of code-switching. As we know, English is widely used in Hong Kong and Taiwan, so that the code-switching in the pop songs from these regions is common.
　　For the composers and singers, they regard code-switching as a strategy. The existence of code-switching can reach the purpose of attention-getting of the listeners, which may help popularize the song.
　　II. Analysis of Pop Songs
　　Code-switching bears different kinds, means, and functions. Generally speaking, there are four kinds.
　　First one is that it appears in words. Such as LOVE by Elva, “Party不是谁都想去，在Paris才有时尚的真理，……我要L.O.V.E.不能只有L.V.”
