美国名校电影专业申请方案全解析

所谓电影学院就是指专门为电影理论研究、电影制作以及电影辅助职业提供教育和实践的学术机构。纯正的电影学院多为学科齐全，分类明细并且有着广泛的职业发展方向。 而按照世界范围内的学术标准差异，一般大部分本科阶段学校多提供BA(文学士学位)) ，少部分职业和艺术学院提供BFA(艺术学士学位) ，个别艺术学院的设计专业和数字媒体提供的是BS(理学士专业) 。研究生阶段分MA 和MFA 两个方向，一般MA 多为1年到两年的Film studies(电影学) 方向，主要学习和研究电影理论知识。而提供MFA 专业的多为 MFA film production(电影制作) ，此学位主要从事电影制作、写作、导演和后期工作。美国目前为止只有极个别的学校开设的研究生方向有MFA Directing，大部分多为production 。 开设Ph.D (博士) 的学校很少，因为美国的电影学博士研究多集中在威斯康星麦迪逊大学(UW-Madison)，哥伦比亚大学(Columbia University)以及德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校(UT-Austin) ，当然类似UCLA 、USC 、NYU 这三个主力大学也是高级电影理论培训的主力军。 相关专业与职业发展方向：

全美第一位。 人文方面，哲学系连续10年被评为全美及世界第一, 其他较好的文科科目有英文、历史和政治科学。 而在理工科方面，数学专业在全美多年来稳定在前三位，而其他如 物理，计算机科学与技术等，也都是全美top30，顶尖的专业。

Admission to the Tisch School of the Arts is highly selective. We carefully evaluate each applicant based on a number of factors: academic record, standardized test scores, creative materials, recommendations, extracurricular involvement and an essay. In addition, an artistic review is required for admission to all Tisch programs. Each department has its own specifications for review.

Competitive applicants to the Tisch School of the Arts have done well academically, in addition to demonstrating potential in his/her chosen field. Also, participation in meaningful school and community activities is an important factor, and given the University"s unique

study within a framework which combines a poad liberal arts background with specialization in a profession. Bachelor of Arts students are enrolled in the College of Letters, Arts & Sciences, where they take their pre-professional courses, including the general education requirements. Major courses are selected from the curriculum of the School of Cinematic Arts. The degree

requires 128 units including 20 lower-division units and 24 upper-division units in Cinematic Arts.

A maximum of 40 School of Cinematic Arts upper-division units will apply to the B.A. degree. The primary goals of the degree programs in film and television production are to develop the student"s ability to express original ideas on film or video and to instill a thorough

understanding of the technical and aesthetic aspects of motion pictures and television. Courses in production provide individual and group filmmaking experiences and the opportunity to learn all aspects of filmmaking in a collaborative environment.

The major in film studies is scholarly, international in scope, and writing-intensive. Students choose to major in film if they want to learn more about the art form, from technology to cultural significance; want to work in the film industry; or are interested in a major that combines arts and humanities. Students usually declare the major toward the end of the second year by meeting with the departmental adviser; together, they create a program of twelve required courses within the major, supplemented by three related courses outside the department. The Undergraduate Film Program leading to the B.S. Degree in Film and Television,

provides a comprehensive exploration of film while ensuring that students receive a strong liberal arts education. The program focuses on three critical areas: film studies, screenwriting, and film production. Students study the works of master filmmakers to learn from those who came before them, practice the art of storytelling through their screenwriting courses and apply what they have learned in their film production courses.

Although students are required to select an area of concentration in either the Film or the Television Program during the second semester of the sophomore year, they also have options for tailoring a major that fits their individual interests and career goals. Film students may take additional hands-on production, screenwriting or critical studies courses beyond the required minimum, as well as take electives from Television and the rest of the university.
