High-Tech,Expo,in,Beijing|high fountain

　　 　　W ith the theme of Innovation to Strengthen the Real Economy, the 15th China Beijing International Hi-Tech Expo was held in Beijing on May 22-27. This annual event consisted of keynote reports, hi-tech exhibition, hi-tech achievements promotion and forums. It highlighted independent innovation, emerging strategic industries and regional cooperation.
　　The Marine Science and Technology Exhibition sponsored by the State Oceanic Administration makes its first appearance in the expo, displaying marine science and technology achievements China has made in the 11th Five-Year Plan (2006-10) period, such as deep-water detectors, robots, the research vessel Xuelong and the new-generation offshore platform.
　　More than 50 delegates from five inter- national organizations and 20 countries and regions participated in the expo. Besides, all of China’s provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities and more than 2,000 Chinese companies took part.
　　The event received 220,000-plus visitors. According to incomplete statistics, 216 hitech cooperation and technological achievements projects were signed, valuing RMB 80.3 billion, representing an increase of 35.9% over last year.
　　The exhibition was hosted by the Beijing branch of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), with the co-sponsorship of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Industry and Information, CCPIT, the State Intellectual Property Office and Beijing Municipal Government.
