　　After the shipping giant European Maersk Group raised price at the beginning of this year, such companies as Cosco Container Lines Co., Ltd. and China Shipping Container Lines Co., Ltd. have also raised prices. So far, the shipping companies have raised their prices for three times and the shipping prices of the popular European and US lines have even quadrupled.
　　Shen Zhengyuan, a researcher on the transportation sector from CI Consulting analyzed for the reporter from Securities Daily: “The rising shipping price leads to rising shipping cost for export enterprises. The impact is as follows: first, the rising shipping price pushes up prices of export commodities, impairing the competitiveness of the domestic exporters. Second, rising shipping price makes the export enterprises spend more on shipping cost, which impact their overall profits.” The rising shipping price has forced some exporters that have signed orders to race against the time for early order delivery in order to avoid the possible shipping price hike in the next month.

　　If not transforming business mix, the domestic export enterprises can do nothing about the rising shipping price but bear the resulted rising cost. For most export enterprises, the freight increase can be offset and the corporate profit rate can be increased only by researchingon and manufacturing high-end products and enhancing product added value.
