　　Horror gripped the heart of World War I soldier, as he saw his lifelong friend fell in battle. The soldier asked his lieutenant if he could go out to bring his fallen comrade back.
　　
　　“You can go.” Said the lieutenant, “but I don’t think it worth it, your friend is probably dead, and you may throw your life away.” The lieutenant’s words don’t matter, and the soldier went any way.
　　
　　Miraculously, he managed to reach his friend, hoisted him onto his shoulder, and brought him back to the company’s trench.
　　
　　The officer checked the wounded soldier, then looked kindly at his friend, “I told you it would not be worth it,”he said, “ your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded.”
　　
　　“It was worth it, Sir,” said the soldier.“ What do you mean by worth it?” responded the lieutenant, “ your friend is dead.”
　　
　　“Yes Sir,” the soldier answered, “but it is worth it because when I got to him, he was still alive and I had the satisfaction of hearing him say…‘Jim …I knew you’d come.’”
　　
　　Many times in life , whether a thing is worth doing or not really depends on how you look at it. Take up all your courage and do something your heart tells you to do.

　　第一次世界大战中，当一名士兵看到他的挚友在战场上倒下时，一阵恐慌攥住了他的心。士兵向中尉请示，他能不能冲出去把倒下的战友背回来。“你可以去，”中尉说, “不过我认为这不值得。你朋友或许已经死了，你可能白白送命。”士兵没有理会中尉的话，还是冲出去了。
　　他奇迹般地冲到了朋友身边，把他扛到肩上，将他带回了连队的战壕。
　　中尉检查了一下受伤的战士，随后慈爱地看着他的朋友。“我告诉过你这不值得，”他说，“你的朋友已经死了，而你也受了重伤。”
　　“这是值得的，长官。”士兵说。“你说值得是什么意思？”中尉说，“你的朋友已经死了。”
　　“是的，长官，”士兵回答道，“我之所以说值得，是因为当我找到他时，他还活着，他对我说:‘吉姆……我就知道你肯定会来。’有这句话我就满足了。”
　　在人生路上，很多时候一件事情值不值得做，的确在于你如何看待它。鼓起你所有的勇气，遵照心灵的指示去行动吧！
