　　Tonight we’re gonna take a closer look at one of the most controversial forms of energy and one of the most costly forms of energy, and that is coal.
　　President Obama is drawing sharp criticism from environmentalists because he wants to spend almost $3.5 billion in economic 1)stimulus money on so-called “clean coal”projects. It’s a big victory for the powerful coal industry. But is it even possible to get such a thing as “clean coal?”
　　Coal is an environmental nightmare. Worse than the 2)soot that can be seen is the invisible 3)carbon dioxide gas produced by coal, considered the leading cause of global warming.
　　Bruce Niles (Sierra Club): …an enormous amount of pollution. It is the dirtiest of all fuels that we know of.
　　Commercial: Clean coal: America’s power.
　　Yet a $20 million coal industry advertising 4)blitz promises that coal can be clean.
